Female Foot Tattoos
No longer taboo, more and more girls are getting their body inked. Finding the right body part for a female tattoo can sometimes be a tough choice though. On the arms can be viewed as too masculine as can a leg pattern. So if you still are yet to decide where your tattoo should be placed, have you ever thought about one of those two little things you walk on?
Our favourite female tattoos are those inked on the foot. Whether you decide on a shooting star design or a pretty flower pattern, having a tattoo on your foot can be subtle and feminine. You can have the tattoo done on the ankles which is probably one of the most popular areas for women, the area near the toes or on the outer side of the foot. Depending on the shape and size of your design, the artist will suggest where best to achieve maximum results. If you are planning on getting a foot tattoo but are not sure yet whether it would look good, have a temporary one first so you can get a feel of how it will look before you commit to a permanent fixture!
If you do decide to go ahead with the tattoo, please be ready for a bit of pain! Feet are fairly non-fleshy, so the tattoo itself will hurt a fair amount when being inked. Obviously everyone has a different threshold, but just be aware that while you are in the studio you’ll probably have a bead of sweat or two running down your forehead!
Once your tattoo is unveiled to the world, keeping your feet well maintained is a must! There is little point in putting a beautiful design on a nasty looking foot now is there?! It’s like putting a Rolls Royce engine in a clapped out Combi! So get ready to treat your feet more than your partner – with scrubs and pedicures on a weekly basis. Then of course, a few pairs of new open toed shoes are required so people can admire your new tattoo!
We are big fans of female foot tattoos. They can look very feminine and actually turn feet, not one of the most attractive body parts, into a work of art. As we suggested earlier though, perhaps trying out a temporary one first would be a great idea.
